Peach Cobbler
Description
Peach cobbler[1][2] is a a good portion of fruit and bread.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 4 cups sliced peaches (~6 medium)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 3 tbsp shortening
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
Procedures
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Combine 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon in pan. Stir in peaches and lemon juice. Constantly stir and cook, the mixture will thicken and boil. Stir and boil for ~1 minute. Put this into oven to keep hot. Combine shortening into flour, add in 1 tbsp sugar, baking powder and salt for a fine crumb consistency. Gently stir in milk. Take spoonful of this dough mixture and put into hot peach sauce in oven. There should be ~6 spoonfuls of dough. Bake for ~27 minutes until top is golden brown.
