Lentil soup
Description
Lentil soup [1][2] known for being a great winter soup.
Ingredients
- 2 cups (500 mL) brown lentils
- 4 cups (1 L) cold water
- 2 tbsp. (30 mL) salt
- 1/4 tsp. (1 mL) pepper
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) butter
- 1 19 oz. can (540 mL) tomatoes
- 1 onion diced
- 2 tbsp. (30 mL) fresh dill or 1 tbsp. (15 mL) dill seeds
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 2 bay leaves
Procedures
Boil all ingredients in a pot, then cover and let simmer on low heat for ~2 hours.
