Ingredients
- boiling salted oiled water3-4 quarts
- spaghetti8 ounces
- olive oil3 tablespoons
- smoked bacon4 slicesdiced
- onion1 mediumchopped
- teaspoon-1 tablespoon crushed red pepper½ unit
- tomato sauce12-16 ounces
- freshly grated Parmesan cheese2-4 ounces
Method

Boil spaghetti 6 minutes or so, just al dente, drain.

As water is put on to boil, start heating olive oil in medium saucepan, and sauté bacon until fat is just clear.

Add onion and sauté until soft.

Add crushed red pepper and cook 2-3 minutes more.

Add tomato sauce and heat through.

Remove from heat, add Parmesan cheese, and serve immediately over spaghetti.

May garnish with additional Parmesan cheese.
