Not to be confused with its Cornish counterpart, the 'pastie' could be considered as one of Northern

Ingredients

  • ground pork or beef (cooked
    drained)
    1 lb
  • breadcrumbs
    1 cup
  • salt
    1 teaspoon
  • pepper
    1/2 teaspoon
  • Worcestershire sauce
    2 teaspoons
  • cold water
    1/2 cup
  • coriander
    1 teaspoon
  • nutmeg
    1/2 teaspoon
  • size potatoes (Boiled
    mashed and cooled)
    3 medium

Method

Mix all of the ingredients and add:

1 tbls. chopped parsley.

1 medium size onion (diced and sautéed).

Form the pasty into approx 3-inch diameter pan

Dip into your favourite fish batter and cover all over.

Deep fry in 375F oil and remove when a golden brown.

Serve with chips (French Fries) cooked in same.
