Ingredients
- grated orange peel1 cup
- white sugar½ cup
- beaten egg1 unit
- white sugar1 cup
- melted butter or margarine3 tablespoons
- baking powder3½ tsp
- white all-purpose flour2½ cups
- milk1¼ cups
- salt½ tsp
Method

Cover grated orange peel with water and boil 5 minutes.

Drain and rinse, discarding water.

Barely cover with cold water, about ¼ cup.

Add ½ cup sugar and cook until peel is tender and water is cooked away; cool.

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Mix thoroughly all items under List 2.

Add cooled peel to this mixture and

Pour into greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3 inch pan.

Bake 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out dry when inserted in the loaf.
