English Cookies

Ingredients

• 2 whole eggs or 4 yolks beaten very light
• 1 cup sugar
• ¾ cup butter
• 2 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• ¾ cup sherry wine
• 2 teaspoons cinnamon
• ½ teaspoon cloves
• 1 cup chopped raisins
• ¾ cup chopped pecans

Procedures

1. First dissolve the cinnamon and cloves in wine
2. Mix together the eggs, sugar, butter, flour, baking powder and dissolved spices
3. To this batter add the chopped raisins and pecans
4. Mix all well
5. Bake in gem rings
