Date Beer Cake

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter or margarine
• 2 cups brown sugar, packed
• 2 eggs
• 2½ cups flour
• 2 tsp cinnamon
• 2 tsp allspice
• 2 tsp baking soda
• ½ tsp cloves, ground
• 2 cups beer
• 2 cups dates, coarsely chopped
• ½ cup flour
• 1 cup pecans, quartered

Procedures

1. Beat first 9 ingredients well with electric mixer.
2. Mix dates with ½ cup flour.
3. Stir dates and pecans into batter.
4. Cool.
5. Serve with whipped cream or frost top with cream cheese frosting.
