When he found an inner passion to create an interesting cooking show, Brown left the film business and studied cooking at the New England Culinary Institute. He was able to create his dream-show, Good Eats, combining cooking knowledge and science.

Accomplishments

In addition to his Food Network TV shows, Brown has published three cookbooks. He is also the winner of a Peabody award for Good Eats, "Rarely has science been taught on TV in such an entertaining – and appetizing – manner as it is in Alton Brown`s goofy, tirelessly inventive series."
