Ingredients

Dough

Nut mixture

  • 1½ lbs ground nuts (pecans or walnuts)
  • 1½ to 2 cups sugar (sweeten to taste)
  • sufficient milk to make a spreadable paste

  1. Mix the nut meal and add sufficient milk to make a spreadable paste.

Yeast

  1. Dissolve yeast in water and add sugar.

Dough

  1. Heat the milk and the butter together until melted.
  2. When mixture is cool, add yeast and beaten eggs; mix well.
  3. Pour this mixture into flour and remaining ingredients.
  4. Refrigerate dough overnight.
  5. Divide dough into 5 equal parts.
  6. Roll on floured board.
  7. Spread with nut mixture.
  8. Then roll like jelly roll.
  9. Brush with egg whites.
  10. Bake at 350°F for ½ hour on lightly greased cookie sheet.
