  1. Combine ingredients in a saucepan and simmer until thickened.
  2. stir constantly, preferably with a wooden spoon.
  3. Add the egg yolks and let cook 2 or 3 minutes longer.
  4. Remove cinnamon stick.
  5. Let cool.
