strawberry Flummery
- 1/4 T. salt
- 1/3 Cup sugar
- 1/4 Cup cornstarch
- 3 Cups milk
- 1 egg Yolk, Beaten
- 2 T. vanilla
- 2 T. sugar
- 2 Cups Fresh strawberries, Halved
In a Pan, Combine 1/3 Cup sugar, cornstarch, And salt. Blend in milk. Cook And Stir Until Mixture Thickens And Bubbles. Stir a Moderate Amount of Hot Mixture Into egg Yolk And Return to Pan. Cook And Stir Until Thickened, About 2 Minutes More. Remove From Heat And Stir in vanilla. Pour Into 1 1/2 Quart Serving Bowl. Cover Surface With Plastic Wrap. Cool And Chill 2 Hours. Sprinkle 2 T. of sugar Over Berries. Place on Top of Flummery. Serves 6
