Procedures

  1. Combine: 3 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder, ½ teaspoon salt and 2 tablespoons Sugar.
  2. Put in a large bowl and make a well in the center.
  3. Combine: 2 tablespoons cooking oil*, 1 egg and ¾ cup milk and beat well.
  4. Preheat oven to 450F.
  5. Pour the milk mixture into the flour, and mix well, stirring until the dry ingredients are moistened.
  6. Grease your hands slightly, and turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
  7. Knead 8 to 10 times.
  8. Roll the dough out to ½-inch thickness.
  9. Add flour if the dough is too sticky.
  10. Cut into two-inch rounds and place on an ungreased cooking sheet.
  11. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Serve warm or cold, with butter, honey and jam.
