Ingredients

Procedures

  1. Mix the powdered milk and water together and then add the lemon juice and mix.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs until light and then add the brown sugar, honey, oil, and vanilla extract.
  3. Stir the salt and baking soda into 3 cups of the flour and combine with egg mixture.
  4. Continue to add flour until the dough is very stiff.
  5. Divide the dough into 4 parts.
  6. Lightly grease a cookie sheet with shortening and dust it with flour.
  7. Roll one part of the dough out on the cookie sheet until it is about ⅛ inch thick.
  8. Lightly mark out squares with a blunt knife and use a fork to prick the squares every inch or so.
  9. Bake at 375°F for about 15 minutes until lightly browned.
  10. Cut into squares immediately and move to a cooling rack.
  11. Repeat with the other 3 parts of the dough.
