Description
This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Williams Estate in Tyler, Texas in 1994. From "Catsrecipes Y-Group"[1]
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- ½ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons melted shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup cocoa
- 1¾ cups hot water
Directions
- Mix flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and 2 tablespoons cocoa together then stir in milk and shortening and spread in square pan.
- Sprinkle with brown sugar and ¼ cup cocoa.
- Pour hot water over all then bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
